Computer Science

This is an emerging and powerful branch of Engineering, which has the tremendous advantage of abstraction and flexibility. This has revolutionized not only the data processing and storage, but also the quality of life, communication, manufacturing and transportation.

This branch encompasses all the domains , as other engineering and technology domains harness the power and flexibility provided by computers and hence is much sought after.

The department aim’s much more than the prescribed university syllabus, keeping an eye towards the fastest growing computer industry. The experienced faculty exposes the would be computer engineers to a rigorous and exhaustive curriculum designed to bring out the best in them and to keep them in touch with the latest technology. Besides imparting theoretical knowledge, a lot of stress is laid on training and overall development of the individual personality.

Faculties with industrial background and visiting guest faculties from reputed laboratories are invited to conduct seminars and lectures. This helps students gain a better understanding of the current situation of the industry as well as gain information on varied topics ranging from latest trends to developments in the automation field.

The department has developed state-of art laboratories equipped with latest machines with high end configurations working in fully networked environment, using client server – DBMS lab, Internet lab and C Programming lab each consisting 25 P-IV (IBM & COMPAQ).

Curriculum:

The course emphasizes on analysis and design of algorithm, Object oriented system development, Data base management system, UNIX system programming, Computer networks, Internet programming, Advanced computer Architecture, Distributed computing, Miniaturization in computer technology, audio-video and image processing, storage & retrieval, data processing and communication.
